Stages of work on the project.

An interior design project typically involves the following steps:

  • Initial consultation: The first step is to meet with the client and discuss their project. If the process is remote, this will involve completing a design brief and meeting via Zoom or other communication platforms convenient for the client. This may include discussing their goals and objectives, preferences and budget.

  • Site visit: Following the initial consultation, the interior designer will typically visit the location where the project will be carried out. If remote, this will require the client to provide photos and videos of the site, floor plans, architectural drawings with measurements after all the supporting structures have been erected. This allows the designer to assess the space, take measurements and identify any potential issues that may need to be addressed.

  • Design concept: Based on the client’s goals and preferences, the interior designer will develop a design concept for the project. This may include creating sketches, mood boards or 3D renderings to help the client visualize the proposed design.

  • Design Development: Once the client has approved the initial design concept, the interior designer will begin to develop the design in more detail. This may include selecting specific materials, finishes, furniture, and accessories that will be used in the space.

  • Budgeting: As the design develops, the interior designer will also work with the client to set a budget for the project. This includes estimating the cost of materials, labor, and any other expenses associated with the project.

  • Presentation: Once the design has been fully developed and the budget has been set, the interior designer will present the final design to the client. This may include providing detailed drawings, renderings, or physical samples of materials to help the client understand the design.

  • Implementation: Once the design has been approved by the client, the interior designer will begin to implement the project. This includes coordinating with contractors, ordering materials, and overseeing the installation of design elements. If the project was created remotely, the designer and the client will discuss the possibility of further collaboration and associated costs for the designer to live nearby or for the complete design project to be handed over to the contractor or client to implement independently.

Follow-up: Even after a project is completed, an interior designer may continue to work with the client to ensure that the space remains functional and beautiful over time. This may include periodic inspections, maintenance recommendations, or design updates as needed.

It is also possible to work on a simplified system of creating a design project.

  • Option 1 - creating a complete design project with 3D visualization and a working project with a list of materials, furniture and lighting.

  • Option 2 - creating only the design concept of 3D visualizations.

  • Option 3 - Assistance in creating a list of interior items and selecting factories and manufacturers.
